How much does an evaluation cost?
New client assessment: $185

How much do individual sessions cost?

Beginning January 1, 2026 treatment costs will be:

Does insurance cover treatment costs?
Typically, no. Most insurances do not cover music therapy in North and South Carolina. However, always reach out to your insurance company to ask about mental health benefits, as well as if approval/referral is required from a primary care doctor.

Are there grants that I or my family can apply for?
Yes! Please view this list of financial resources for individuals. You can also apply for PMT's Family and Friends Fund here, which is available for clients age 18+ years.

How do I pay electronic invoices?
You will receive an itemized invoice per day via email from QuickBooks. First, click "Pay Invoice" then click "View Invoice" to receive itemization of appointment type, date, time, etc.

How much does it cost to perform in the recital?
Recital fee: $20 per recital
If more than one family member performs, then there is a 25% reduced fee for each additional performer.

Are mobile treatment sessions possible?
Based upon medical necessity, in home appointments incur a mobile fee of $50.00 - $100.00 pending upon commute length in relation to PMT’s Office Location (224 Westinghouse Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28273).
Beginning January 1, 2026, travel fees will increase to the following structure, determined from our main address.

$50 per appointment that is up to 5 miles round trip

$75 per appt. that is 6 - 8 miles round trip

$100 per appt. 9 - 12 miles round trip

$125 per appt. 13 - 15 miles round trip
