While attending the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Conference in Florida I am reminded and encouraged by the rhythms of life.
There have been countless music therapists sharing their stories about clinical highlights, and findings from research. Seeing so many music therapy students and interns gathering together and networking has been motivating. As there are approximately 5,800 board certified music therapists practicing in the country, it is an awesome opportunity when the seven regions of AMTA gather together! Although I miss living in the Mid-Atlantic Region, it has been great meeting more folks in the Southeastern Region. For sure the Drum Circle last night was an energetic experience in which I had the stellar opportunity to feel, participate and SHARE in the rhythms. More sharing came about with hotel roommates, committee reports, minutes from the Early Childhood Music Therapists Networking Luncheon, coffee conversations, a meal with fellow colleagues & students, an outing with Duquesne University Folks & Alum and more. I am looking forward to returning home and SHARING more with the community about music therapy. "On the road again..."
