Offering camp options for children & Youth ageS 3 - 18
IN PERSON SUMMER CAMP: Songwriting Camp 6/14/21 - 6/18/21
This camp is for aspiring teen songwriters or those interested in crafting lyrics/melodies as a creative outlet for emotional processing. Each camper will write their own song, presenting it at the end of the week either as a solo or accompanied by the facilitating music therapist! No prior musical skills needed.
Ages: 14 - 18
Dates: Monday, 6/14/21 - Friday, 6/18/21
Location: 220 Westinghouse Boulevard with social distancing & masks
Timing: 9:30 - 11am (EST)
Minimum # of campers: 3 required. Maximum # of campers: 4 due to space restrictions.
In Person SUMMER CAMP: Bucket Drumming 6/21-6/25/21
This camp is designed for aspiring drummers (ages 10-14) on a budget! Get your creative energy out on found sound and you’ll discover you have a symphony in your own home! Participants will learn basic drumming patterns, collaborate in writing beats, and explore found sound - instruments made from household objects through the facilitation of Ashley Tisdale, Drum Circle Facilitator with years of experience exploring rhythm and sound. No prior musical skills needed.
Dates: June 21 - June 25th.
Location: PMT Main 220 Westinghouse Bouelvard, S. Charlotte - socially distanced.
Timing: 1:30 - 2:30pm (EST)
Minimum # of campers: 3. Maximum # of campers: 4 due to safe spacing.
IN PERSON SUMMER CAMP: Musical Chairs 7/12/21 - 7/16/21
Children age 7 to 11 are invited to explore instruments during this week long camp virtually led by staff. No prior musical skills needed!
The interactive camp mornings will rotate through the following instruments for basic skills and technique: piano, drums, pitched percussion and ukulele. This will be a fun filled week to explore learning how to play musical instruments from home.
Each camper will receive their own kazoo to use during camp and keep as a souvenir of the camp week! Maybe this will help children further decide on a musical instrument to explore at school or private lessons!
The camp mornings will include games & music based worksheets and lots of fun exploring the instruments through our screens together!

In Person SUMMER CAMP: Siblings Make Music Camp 7/19 - 7/23/21
This camp with Melissa Reinhardt, MSEd, MT-BC, Neurologic Music Therapist is designed for children with special needs and their siblings. Sibling units will be encouraged to strengthen their relationship through music with musical improvisation, songwriting, instrument playing, movement, singing, musical crafts, and musical games.
