All of the camps (both week long and once/week) are led by one of our Music Therapists at our location in South Charlotte. We created camps that range for children age 4 through young adults! Favored camps from 2018 have returned with additional offerings. Early registration rates end April 30, 2019. Upon online registration and payment, you'll receive summer camp forms. SUMMER CAMP: Siblings Make Music 6/10 - 6/14

Children ages: 4-12 years with special needs and their sibling(s) are invited to attend this camp returning to our practice. Miss Melissa will lead this week's camp that includes musical improvisation, songwriting, instrument playing, movement/dance, singing, musical crafts, videos and musical games. The camp's focus is to build relationships between siblings through music making in a fun & creative setting.
DATES: June 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. 9am - Noon daily.

SUMMER CAMP: Musical Chairs Instrument Exploration 6/17 - 6/21

Children age 6 or older interested in learning an instrument but not sure which one to focus upon? Miss Gretchen will facilitate this camp rotating each day on the following instruments for basic skills and playing technique: piano, violin, drum set, recorder and ukulele. Other instruments will be used intermittently including kazoos, Boomwhackers, glockenspiel and hand bells. This will be a fun filled week to explore musical instruments in a supportive setting with air conditioning!! Camper will receive their own kazoo and recorder to use during camp and keep as a souvenir of the camp week.

SUMMER CAMP: Strings Camp 6/24 - 6/28

This camp is planned for kids who may have a ukulele or guitar sitting around at home and they’d like to further their comfort playing the stringed instrument. Basic skills and playing technique will encouraged plus songs (variety of folk, pop, movie soundtracks) will be learned on the stringed instruments instructed by Miss Gretchen. This camp will be hands on and will be a fun filled week to gain greater understanding of stringed instruments: guitar or ukulele. Pending campers’ interest there may be time to also incorporate violin and bass guitar.
DATES: June 24, 25, 26, 27, & 28. 9:30am - Noon daily.

SUMMER CAMP: Glee Club Mondays in July 2019

This once per week camp with Miriam Tart, MT-BC is geared for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. PMT Glee Club will focus on singing a variety of pop, folk and soundtracks. Vocal health will be encouraged through warm-ups, exercises whilst enjoying the support of singing with a group of new friends.
DATES: Mondays July 8, 15, 22 & 29. 1 - 2:30pm weekly.

SUMMER CAMP: Rock Band Tuesdays in July 2019

For teenagers, ages 14 - 18 We Rock! Rock Band Camp is an adapted rock band for teenagers who need extra support to live out their musical dreams with Miss Ashley.They will be assisted to play and sing current rock and pop music using string and percussion instruments that are accessible. With parent/guardian permission, music will be recorded and a “record” will be released for participants to take home at the end of camp.
DATES: Tuesdays, July 9, 16, 23 & 30. 3 - 4pm weekly. NOTE: No Camp on July 2, 2019.

SUMMER CAMP: Piano Players Party Camp 7/8 - 7/12

This daily camp will focus on piano skills for beginner or intermediate students and be taught by Miriam Tart, MT-BC, exposure to piano playing through individual or group instruction. The following skills will be covered: technique, improvisation and music theory.

SUMMER CAMP: Express Yourself! 7/15 - 7/19

Females in rising grades 6 - 8 are invited to attend Express Yourself! Camp with Ms. Miriam. Campers will focus on creative outlet in dealing with anxiety and emotional issues. They'll explore music and art, drama, songwriting, lyric analysis and musical improvisation through out the week!

SUMMER CAMP: Intro to Instruments 7/22 - 7/26

Currently, students must be in middle school to participate in band or chorus. This camp will give them a headstart on learning an instrument as well as an intro to music reading. Campers will focus on learning the basics of playing the ukulele, recorder, QChord and electric keyboard with an introduction to music theory. This week long music camp with Ms. Melissa will be great preparation for middle school band!

SUMMER CAMP: Storytellers 7/29 - 8/2

Using the format of The Hero’s Journey™, adolescent campers age 14 - 18 will write their own stories throughout the week using music improvisation, songwriting, and popular music to explore themes related to journeys, challenges, and identity. The camp experience is based highly on improvisation to help them tell their stories and will be facilitated by Ms. Miriam.
